About us

Ahmose is an initiative from the Civilizations' Meeting Point NGO, forming teams of volunteers that primarily work in the scope of Safety, Disaster Risk Reduction, Social Assistance and Rescue / Emergency Response. It is volunteer-based and non-profit. The most prominent works the NGO has performed so far are: 1. Campaigns of public schools rehabilitation, both in terms of safety (structural and training) and general ambience/appearance. We currently manage an average of three schools completions a year, a number that can easily be increased if more funds are made available. 2. Creation of a crowd-sourced web map Ahmose is an initiative from the Civilizations' Meeting Point NGO, forming teams of volunteers that primarily work in the scope of Safety, Disaster Risk Reduction, Social Assistance and Rescue / Emergency Response. Creation of a crowd-sourced web map for the follow-up of all of Egypt's major safety concerns (ESM - Egypt Safety Map), currently being revamped to act as a general platform promoting a culture of safety and risk reduction in Egypt, in addition to the already available services of risk assessment and risk mitigation (release of ESM 2.0 should take place in the first half of 2016). 3. Creation of another crowd-sourced web map and module for the coordination of emergency response during major crises between all stakeholders (ERM - Egypt Relief Map, expected launch date: 01.01.2016) Show More Show Less
